On November 7, 2006 Horry County voters supported a One-Cent Capital Projects Sales Tax for roads by a 61.4 to 38.6 percent. This program allots over $109 million to pave 100 miles of county dirt roads. The 100miles are divided to four groups. A list of the 100 miles of roads to be paved can be obtained here. Horry County has contracted with RPM Engineers to administer Group 1 of the Dirt Road Paving Program. Group 1 consisted of 50 projects totaling 20 miles of roadway. Group II consisted of 54 projects totaling 25 miles. However, RPM was contracted for 18 miles made up of 43 Roads. The 7 miles are being done by Horry County Engineering Department. RPM Engineers will work on the county's behalf to ensure that these projects are built on time and within the allotted budget.
